Smart software solutions for digital planning, construction and management of buildings—on show at digitalBAU, organized by Messe München and the Bundesverband Bausoftware (BVBS). This is a new trade fair for digital products and solutions in the building industry. Its premiere is from February 11 to 13, 2020 in Cologne.
For three days the trade fair center in Cologne will be transformed into a meeting place for the building software sector. The rapid pace of innovation in this field calls for a new event, taking place in the intervening years between the successive editions of the world’s leading trade show, BAU. digitalBAU is an important dialog platform for planners, architects, engineers, the building trades and the entire building industry; it is being organized in cooperation with the BVBS.
Strong showing from business and industry
In Hall 7 at the trade fair center in the cathedral city of Cologne, around 140 exhibitors will be showcasing their products and solutions on 17,000 square meters of exhibition space. As well as software solutions for construction IT, the event will also cover the entire value chain in digital planning, construction and maintenance of buildings. Already signed up for this premiere are Dormakaba (access technology), Xella (building and insulation materials) and the Nemetschek Group (software supplier). The well known software company NEVARIS is also enthusiastic about the new trade-fair concept: “Digitalization is the dominant theme in the building sector. Those companies investing now in smart software are setting themselves up for a secure future and long-term profitability. Specially developed applications are needed to cater for the many different demands across the building industry. The suppliers of these applications are seldom found in the concentration that you will see at digitalBAU,” says Daniel Csillag, Managing Director of NEVARIS Bausoftware GmbH.
During the three days of the fair, around 15,000 trade visitors from Germany and other countries in Europe will converge on this Rhineland metropolis.
Wide-ranging forum and congress program
What will our homes and workplaces look like in the future? What new ideas and approaches can we expect from digitalization? What does the digital transformation mean for planning, constructing and maintaining buildings? These and many other themes will be in focus in the forums program at the show. Attendance at all forum events is free of charge for all visitors to digitalBAU. The event is also flanked by a multi-day congress—a highlight for all architects, planners and engineers. The implementation of individual building projects using innovative products and technologies will be presented and discussed here.
As at BAU 2019 in Munich, digitalBAU will also feature a platform which brings together digital initiatives in the building industry with current developments in the software sector. Here start-ups will have the chance to present their ideas and concepts and forge contacts with top decision-makers, potential supporters and future customers.
